Our primary goal at UNHCR is to ensure the rights and well-being of people who have been forced to leave their homes. We work with our partners and communities to ensure that every person has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another country. We are also making efforts to find sustainable solutions.
For over half a century, UNHCR has helped millions of people to start their lives again. These include refugees, returnees, stateless people, internally displaced persons and asylum seekers. Our help in providing protection, shelter, health and education services is vital if these people are to leave their traumatic past behind and be able to look to the future with optimism.
